One of my questions for chapter five was Hollis didn't listen to anybody, and it looks like she doesn't want anybody to think of her as week, or dumb, So when "lemon lady" comes and asks her why she wasn't at school, why was she so scared even when she knew lemon lady wasn't (and couldn't) do anything to her?
What do you think is best for Hollis Woods, staying with her family, whom she never knew or staying with her friends? If she goes to her family, wouldn't she know how a real family is?. Explain "Why" in the first Question and just explain for second.
Everyone has a color that best describes thems. What is Hollis Woods's color? Is that the color she always is, or does it fade to be a dull color, or does it change to a lighter version? Is your color always the same?
When Hollis draws pictures to calm herself down, does that mean that everyone around her isn't as preciouse as her mom that she can't find. Are they not as good to help her, or does she just not believe them?
WHAT do you think?... Does Hollis care about her real family or did she completely take her real family out of her mind and is focused on Josie and the other foster families she's staying with?
When Hollis and Steven go up the mountain, why does he give Hollis the bigger peice of chocolate when he splits it? And why does is he so eager to drive and to teach Hollis to drive?
All of you have asked thought provoking and meaningful questions. Now chose any one question and give your response. remember to mention whose question you chose to answer. JAK.
I think that Hollis is grateful because she is now with Josie and they both have the same habits and things they like to do. And she does not want to leave her even though she left every other foster home. And she is grateful for who she is with now but dosen't worry about her mom anymore.
-I think that Hollis's soul is depending on the pictures that she draws, the color that she puts in it, and the detail that's making the image stand out. So I think that Hollis's soul looks tender, and at the same time it looks lonley and torn apart because of the way she thinks. Which is , wanting people to think that she isn't weak!
I think she is not ignoring the search, she is only trying to spend more time with Josie because of her memory.
Two more ideas may be... 1 She is ungrateful and ates her mother because she left her. 2 She has nowhere to go besides with Josie and thinks her mom left her there because of poverty and because she cared for Hollis.
